Finally..... the night we've all been waiting for had arrived. The goodie-bags were filled to the brim with little gifts and savouries for our wonderful guests.

The committee members who works hard throughout the 6 months of preparation, and worked even harder during the final lap..... made it all happened. For it was the dedication and commitment of the organizing committee, under the leadership of the President, Jamilah and V.President, Grace, that made the event a BLAST !

H.E Victoriano M. Lecaros and his beautiful wife, graced and officiated the event. Representatives from the Philippine Embassy and the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia also attended this function in full force.

The event started off with singing and blowing MALFIL Club's 25th Anniversary cake, by our President, Jamilah Abdullah (in blue), surrounded by Juliet Chin (in white), Princess Dr. Becky Leogardo (in greenish gold), V.President, Grace Farhani Raof (in Pink), Maryam (in blue) and Maria (in peach) and many others.

While dinner was being served - a sumptuous 6-course chinese dinner, the guests were entertained by our 2 wonderful MCs, Maria and Lady Ana, and flanked by Stephen Fernando. The event, the food, the fun, the smiles on our faces, the great performers, especially, Badri Ibrahim, who charmed all the ladies in the ballroom and amazed the men with his vocals and persona; Danica who serenaded the guests with her sweet voice; JR who made us laugh with his rendition of Endless Love, Steven and Villy who fascinated us with their cha-cha, ramba and samba; Duta Budaya who gave us a colourful dance performance and Stephen Fernando who made us laugh throughout the night with his comedy gigs.

This year, MALFIL Club donated part of the proceeds to The Society for the Severely Mentally Handicapped, Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan.

The hundreds of guests who were dressed to the nines, bought more Raffles tickets during the event, in full support towards this charitable cause. Princess Dr. Becky Leogardo and Mr. CY Chin pledged their monies towards this charitable event as they each, successfully bid for an oil painting.

Final Checks - Gala Dinner 2008

On the 6th of May, MALFIL Club, represented by President Jamilah, Datin Neva and Leilanie were called upon to meet the Minister of Tourism, Datuk Seri Azalina. We were to meet at the Parliment building....... it was the first for all of us. Interesting enough as we caught glimpses of many other ministers and politicians.

Datuk Seri Azalina apologised to us as she cannot attend our planned function but had promised to send a representative.

The Friday after that, the committee members held at meeting at Menchie's home, where she pampered us with her home-cooked food, such as fish curry, beef stew, mix vegetables, minced beef, chicken adobo, and loads of tidbits. yum yum yummy.

The purpose of this final meeting, a week before our big event on 17th May was to do our final guests count, updates on sales of tickets, raffle tickets, performances and all the others final checks.

The meeting ended almost midnight....... but it was worth it as we managed to iron out a whole lot of issues and of course, we were filled to the brim with the wonderful Zack-Menchie-Yanni hospitality and wonderfully delicious good food.
